Snohomish County Jail Register

The Snohomish County Jail Register is the main place to check for current inmate booking photos. It replaced the old classic view. The register now pulls in data from the main county jail and the Lynnwood and Marysville municipal jails. Each entry lists the housing facility so you know where the person is being held. If you find someone listed under Lynnwood or Marysville, you direct your follow up questions to those jails.

You can go straight to the live search at the NWS Jail Register. Search by last name, by last name and first initial, or by first name alone. The tool shows name, subject number, in custody status, a multiple bookings flag, and housing facility. Tip: use "LastName, FirstName" for tight results. For broad matches, just enter a last name. The register lists Snohomish County jail mugshots only for people still in custody. Released inmates drop off the list.

Note: The Jail Register is a public service and does not show every historical booking; older jail mugshots must be requested through formal channels.

The NWS SCSO inmate inquiry page is the direct search tool for Snohomish County booking records.

Requesting Jail Mugshots

If the person you want is no longer in custody, the online register will not help. You file a public records request with the Sheriff's Office instead. The process is set out on the Requesting Jail Records page. Most inmate jail records are covered by RCW 70.48.100, which holds certain jail records in confidence. Release of confidential records needs inmate authorization or a court order. Basic booking photos and arrest reports are usually still available.

You can submit the request through the central county public records portal. Mail requests go to Public Records Officer, 3000 Rockefeller Ave. M/S 606, Everett, WA 98201. Pay by cash, check, or money order only, made out to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. You may also inspect records in person at the Sheriff's Office.

The county must respond within five business days under RCW 42.56.520. That response can be the records, an installment plan for large pulls, or a reason why records are held back. Fees apply for copies. You get the exact schedule from the records unit.

The broader Public Records Act at RCW 42.56 is what makes Snohomish County jail mugshots and booking photos public in the first place.

The Snohomish County public records request portal is where formal jail record requests are filed.

Municipal Jails in the Register

Two city jails now feed the Snohomish County Jail Register. Lynnwood and Marysville both run their own small booking facilities. Their inmates show up in the same county search tool, which makes Snohomish County jail mugshots much easier to find in one place.

The Lynnwood Municipal Jail holds people arrested inside Lynnwood city limits. The Lynnwood Police Department is at 19200 44th Avenue West, Lynnwood, WA 98036. Arrest records can be pulled from the Lynnwood Police Records Division. Mail, visits, and funds are handled at the city jail.

Marysville runs a similar setup. If you look up someone in the county register and the housing facility lists Lynnwood or Marysville, call that jail direct. Only the county jail is run by the Sheriff; the city jails are run by city police.
